This is taken from a "Chihuly in the Garden" exhibit at the Missouri Botanical Gardens, St. Louis, Missouri. This is my interpretation. I admire and enjoy seeing Chihuly's glass work. I have been to 4 of his garden installations all around the country. Each unique and beautiful.

"Memories"

This Rose is full of memories. It is very old, dating back over 100 years, my grandmother made it a gift to my father when he was about 7. He kept the rose alive and made cuttiings along the way. His children and some of the grandchildren have their own rose bush in their gardens. It is 2008, my father would be 107 years old.

Soft Whispers

A painting of a friends Night Blooming Cerus with the Sphinx moths feeding, Porcelain Berry twined about the oval and a Ruby Throated Hummingbird left top corner in torpid (asleep). As always it was pure joy painting this picture of nature.

Inspired

This painting is of Ruby Throated Hummingbird's playing among the yellow Brugsmansia "Angel Trumpet," porcelain berry vine twinning around the oval. I was inspired to capture this subject on paper when the Brugsmansia was in bloom on the deck outside my studio.
